Tornado On Ground: Quad Cities--Cops Using Humvees For Rescue--Dangerous Floods Hit Midwest
by Monica Davis I'm sitting 100 feet from an angry Ohio River. The water is slate gray, the clouds are drenching an already saturated ground, and trees give up the ghost in water saturated soils and fall over--right in to power lines. The usual highways and streets are flooding, and motorists are ignoring high water signs, putting themselves and their rescuers in danger. Police and sheriff's deputies are patrolling the roads, and have already put the word out for people to keep off streets which habitually flood.
